What is the IQ + Dyslexia Assessment?

The IQ and Dyslexia Assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of a child’s cognitive profile and reading and writing abilities. It identifies strengths and challenges and provides practical learning-support recommendations.

Who may benefit?

Children with reading or spelling difficulties, uneven academic performance, suspected dyslexia, or average/above-average intelligence with literacy challenges. It may also help families, educators, and schools seeking clearer learning information.

Can it help if dyslexia is suspected?

Yes. It helps clarify whether dyslexia or underlying cognitive factors may be contributing to academic and literacy-related difficulties.

Can children with average or above-average intelligence have this assessment?

Yes. The service specifically includes children who have average or above-average intelligence but continue to experience literacy challenges.

What languages can the dyslexia assessment cover?

English, Traditional Chinese, and/or Simplified Chinese, depending on the assessment needs.

What does the IQ component assess?

It provides information about the child’s cognitive abilities and overall cognitive profile.

What does the dyslexia component assess?

It focuses on reading, spelling, and literacy-related abilities to help clarify the nature of academic difficulties.

What happens before the assessment?

The process begins with an enquiry and a free 15-minute specialist phone consultation. After scheduling, a 30-minute parent interview gathers developmental and learning background information.

What happens during testing?

Structured testing includes a 60-minute IQ assessment and a 120-minute dyslexia assessment in English and/or Traditional Chinese and/or Simplified Chinese.

How long is the dyslexia assessment?

The current package provides 120 minutes for the dyslexia assessment covering the selected language or languages.

How long is the IQ assessment?

The IQ component is 60 minutes.

Is a parent interview included?

Yes. A 30-minute parent interview is included.

Will I receive a written report?

Yes. The package includes a comprehensive written report. The stated report timeframe is 2–3 weeks; please confirm the expected delivery date with the team when booking.

Is a parent feedback session included?

Yes. A 1-hour parent feedback session explains the findings and recommendations.

Can the school receive feedback?

Yes. A 30-minute school feedback session is available if parents choose to share the report with the school.

What recommendations are provided?

The assessment provides practical recommendations for learning support at home and in school based on the child’s findings.

How much does it cost?

The current total assessment fee is HK$15,000, including the parent interview, IQ assessment, dyslexia assessment, parent feedback, optional school feedback, and comprehensive report.
