Allen Lai
Allen is an experienced Speech Therapist with over seven years of school-based experience supporting students, teachers, and families within educational settings. He holds an MA in English language teaching from the University of Warwick (UK) and an MSc in Educational speech language pathology and learning disabilities from The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK).
Allen integrates seamlessly into established school systems. He designs Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that translate assessment findings into practical, curriculum-relevant goals with clear success criteria and measurable progress indicators. Adopting the multidisciplinary team approach, he collaborates closely with teachers, learning support staff, and educational psychologists to ensure therapy is embedded in students’ everyday learning.
He delivers a flexible service model that respects school timetables, balancing targeted pull-out intervention with in-class push-in support and consultative coaching. His work focuses on language and literacy-related skills, classroom listening, and social communication, using strategies that promote confident participation and functional carryover.
Allen combines a gentle, child-led interaction style with a structured clinical approach. Informed by the Hanen Program®️ and DIR/Floortime™️ principles, he guides children to strengthen engagement and peer interaction at a pace that supports sustainable progress.
He is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, ensuring clear and respectful communication across diverse school communities.
