Dr. Minna Chau

Dr. Minna Chau is a clinical child psychologist and the founder of Sprout in Motion, one of the largest multidisciplinary child development centers in Hong Kong. She has been assessing and treating children with special needs in Hong Kong, Macau, Mainland China, and the US since 2000. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University in the US, specializing in neurological disorders such as ADHD, Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Dr. Chau is a diplomate of School Neuropsychology and a full member of the Clinical Division of the Hong Kong Psychological Society, as well as an Accredited Clinical Psychologist (recognized by the Health Department in Hong Kong) through the Hong Kong Institute of Clinical Psychologists.

In addition to her expertise in neurological conditions, Dr. Chau has over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents facing anxiety, mood, and behavioral challenges, including Separation Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Panic Disorders, sleep problems, Selective Mutism, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder.

Dr. Chau employs an integrated approach that draws upon the latest research and practical applications in assessment and treatment. She utilizes a range of therapeutic methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Chau previously served as a clinical supervisor for the psychology doctoral program at Alliant International School in Hong Kong and as a clinical supervisor for the Master of Counseling program at The University of Hong Kong. She is fluent in English, Cantonese, and Putonghua.

Over the past twenty years, Dr. Chau has also conducted more than 100 parent and teacher workshops for over 50 international schools throughout the Greater Bay Area, furthering her commitment to supporting children, families, and educators across the region.
