The Heart Behind Sprout in Motion
Sprout in Motion was born from a vision to provide families with more than just answers—they deserve hope, direction, and a community of support.
After completing my doctorate training in 2005, I began working in private practice within a medical group. While conducting assessments and diagnosing children, I felt a deep frustration. Parents would ask me, “How can I help my child?” but the answers often weren’t available in a traditional medical setting, where the focus was primarily on prescribing medications. Many parents were left feeling lost, struggling to find qualified therapists who could truly support their child’s needs.
Filling the Gap in Family Support
This gap inspired me to create Sprout in Motion—a place where parents wouldn’t just receive a diagnosis or “bad news” about their child.
Instead, they would find hope, practical solutions, and access to professional, multidisciplinary support under one roof.
Humble Beginnings
Sprout in Motion began in 2013 as a small center with one speech therapist and a reading specialist, nestled in a cozy space with three therapy rooms on Chancery Road in Mid-Levels.
By 2017, we had grown to a team of nine therapists and outgrew our original space. Recognizing the increasing need for comprehensive services, I spent six months designing and building a larger center in Wong Chuk Hang. This new space allowed us to expand our offerings to include additional disciplines, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and occupational therapy.
Where We Are Today
Today, Sprout in Motion has grown into a team of over 24 dedicated professionals, including clinical and educational psychologists, counselors, speech and occupational therapists, ABA therapists, art therapists, and more. Together, we are committed to supporting neurodivergent students and their caring families with the highest level of expertise and compassion.
